YOGA CLASSES: with Kim Ryder
Saturday mornings 10.00 – 11.30am Telford College (TF1 2NP) Mixed ability Hatha Yoga £8.00 pay-as-you-go
A great all-round class that will change every week which includes pranayama (breathing exercises), asana (postures), meditation and relaxation. Moving from posture to posture in synchrony with your breath, the emphasis here is correct alignment so we spend time looking at variations and modifications to the classic yoga poses so that you learn how to modify postures if you are recovering from injury.
Suitable for beginners and those progressing their practise because we will also look at how to progress these poses as the body becomes more open. Sometimes we will also incorporate some Yin yoga poses which we hold for a little longer to help us truly relax and let go. Please bring your own mat.
PILATES CLASSES: with Kay Thornton
Wednesday evenings 6.00pm – 7.00pm Ketley Community Centre (TF1 5AN) £7.00 pay-as-you-go
Pilates focuses on balance, posture, strength and flexibility. Most people think of Pilates as ‘core strengthening exercises’, but it is so much more than that. Create a long lean body and promote stability and flexibility around the joints whist working from a stable central core. A great class is you are recovering from injuries or have a weak low back. The exercises we practise will vary week by week, and sometimes we will use resistance bands or foam rollers for extra variety.
Suitable for beginners and experienced students. Please bring your own mat.
